Together with top chef Mike Süsser, we’re creating a new à la carte restaurant at the Dachsteinkönig that offers creative and modern interpretations of high-quality, regional ingredients. A stylish, cozy atmosphere and a live cooking experience over an open fire make a visit to Firedeck a true highlight for all the senses.
To ensure this project becomes the culinary centerpiece of our resorts, we’re looking for you: a passionate Head Sommelier & Host (m/f/d) who, with expertise, personality, and genuine hospitality, creates special moments of enjoyment and plays a key role in shaping the wine and beverage culture at Firedeck .

Purpose of the Position:
As Head Sommelier & Host, you’ll be the central figure in Firedeck’s service team. You’ll inspire our guests with your passion for wine, cuisine, and hospitality, and work together with the kitchen team to create an extraordinary dining experience. With your expertise, you’ll shape the restaurant’s wine and beverage culture and play a key role in the success of the new à la carte concept.
Your main responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the entire wine and beverage menu at Firedeck
- Teamwork is a top priority, whether it involves wine procurement, event planning, or making changes
- Advising our guests on the selection of wines, champagnes, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Developing and continuously optimizing a high-quality, contemporary wine selection
- Providing expert support and training to the service team in the area of wine and beverages
- Conducting tastings and creating special culinary experiences
- Acting as an active host and providing personalized attention to our guests
- Managing the wine cellar, placing orders, conducting inventory counts, and tracking cost of goods sold
- Ensuring the highest standards of quality and service

This goes without saying for you
- Completed training in the hospitality or food service industry
- Ideally, completed sommelier training or a comparable qualification
- In-depth knowledge of wine, beverages, and cuisine

- Confident, professional, and well-groomed demeanor
- Enjoyment of direct guest contact and providing personalized recommendations
- Willingness to work as part of a team—dedication, reliability, independence, and punctuality
Very good German skills; English is a plus

Are you a natural at organizing, do you like to keep track of everything, and are you a quick learner? Then this apprenticeship is perfect for you! As a Hotel & Hospitality Assistant, you’ll learn all the key processes at a modern family resort—from the front desk to guest service to internal office operations.
Here’s what you can expect from us
- A 3-year apprenticeship with exciting insights into all areas of the hotel
- You’ll spend several months working in the service department—together with the team, you’ll ensure a thoroughly enjoyable guest experience
- You’ll welcome guests professionally and warmly—from check-in to check-out
- You’ll assist our guests in person, over the phone, and via email
- You’ll prepare hotel bills and handle tasks related to the cash register and office administration
- You’ll learn how to confidently handle guest requests and complaints
- You’ll collaborate across departments with housekeeping, the kitchen, housekeeping staff, maintenance, and the spa
- You’ll regularly attend training sessions and continuing education courses (Internal Learning Academy)
- Of course, maintaining a clean and organized workplace is also part of the job
