Social commitment

Because people are at the center of everything we do

Together, we are committed to creating a fairer and more supportive society by making a positive contribution through volunteer work, fundraising campaigns and charitable projects. Every action counts!

BraveAurora

In northern Ghana, complex social and economic challenges pose a major hurdle for the education system. Children and young people face multiple barriers to education, ranging from poverty and cultural norms to systemic deficiencies. BRAVEAURORA’s work aims to address the structural deficiencies that prevent young people from accessing quality education. By providing school materials and scholarships, promoting quality education through teacher training and raising community awareness, BRAVEAURORA is making a vital contribution to overcoming the barriers created by poverty and inequality.

Familux invests €6,000* in the pupils for a better future. This finances the education of 240 children.

BWT Fountain construction

Since 2024, we have been supporting the construction of two wells in Africa with the “BE WATER MISSION”.
We support the organization with a total of € 14,000 in cooperation with ADA – our cosmetics line in the resorts.

We are delighted to ensure the supply of fresh and clean drinking water with this project.

Children's hospice Thuringia

At Christmas, we collect donations at The Grand Green – Familux Resort via the Christmas wish list. Every year, we collect around € 2,000, which we then present to the hospice with a small gift for the children during our annual visit.

In 2023, we were the first hotel to receive the “Hotel with a Heart” award from the hospice.

Animal Care e.V.

“Sustainable animal welfare prevents animal suffering before it occurs.”

And it was precisely this motto that prompted us to support the organization. Since July 2024, we have been cooperating with Animal Care e.V. The organization is committed to sustainable animal welfare in Germany, Fuerteventura and Mauritius and spays and neuters animals on site to prevent the spread of disease.

Gosau volunteer fire department

We were able to support the local volunteer fire department in Gosau with a donation in kind in 2024. Breathing masks for the entire fire department were handed over by our hotel director Gerrit Hendrik Bauer in spring.

Talent promotion TS Bad Ischl

The “Talenteschmiede” at the tourism school in Bad Ischl promotes the next generation of restaurateurs. The concept allows talented students of the tourism school to improve their practical skills outside of school hours in cooperation with professionals from the industry. We at the Dachsteinkönig – Familux Resort are also very convinced by this concept and regularly invite the students to our resort.

As the project is run in line with our values, we are able to support the Talenteschmiede with € 1,000 for the next 3 years.

Wings 4 Life Worldrun

“We run for those who can’t”

We are there! The Familux Family team runs together every year to collect donations for spinal cord research. The Familux Family pays the entry fee for all Familux Resorts employees and donates an additional € 5.00 per kilometer run by each individual employee. We are already hard at work training – Go Familux Family!

SOS Children's Village

Every year at Christmas, we collect numerous donations through our “Wishing Tree” and are allowed to donate them to the SOS Children’s Village. The Wishing Tree fulfills individual wishes of children from the SOS Children’s Village in Altmünster.

At Christmas 2017, we were already able to collect over € 3,000. At the beginning of 2018, we were therefore able to hand over a cheque for € 3,150 to the Managing Director of the SOS Children’s Village in Altmünster, Gerhard Pohl. This enabled us to finance an entire house in the village and thus the development and well-being of a Children’s Village family for a whole year.

2019: In 2019, we were able to increase the amount even further and were once again able to hand over over € 3,600 to the SOS Children’s Village in Altmünster.

2020: In January 2020, we were able to hand over a new check for over € 4,000 to our sponsor family.

In the years 2021 to 2023, we were able to collect € 4,000 each year and hand it over to the SOS Children’s Village.

From Gosau to Ghana

Since fall 2018, we have been supporting a completely new social project far away from home for the first time. Initiated by our Familux Family, who have shown a great deal of courage, commitment and care, this project is fully financed and supported by Familux Resorts.

Pioneers for this task are our employees Marina and Szilvia, who traveled to Ghana in autumn 2018 to live with the local population for several weeks and wanted to take on their task in a local orphanage.

In this project, Marina and Szilvia support the employees of this institution and take intensive care of the small children, play with them and also take part in everyday life. Both will live with host families as part of the community and will then have the opportunity to spend several days on vacation in Africa.

Training instead of deportation

2018

The successful project “Apprenticeships for asylum seekers in shortage occupations” is in danger. Currently, negative asylum decisions are also increasing for people in apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships in shortage occupations are one of the few employment opportunities for asylum seekers. This is because companies are desperately looking for workers in shortage occupations – the shortage of skilled workers is progressing at an enormous pace. Apprenticeships for asylum seekers are an opportunity to counteract the shortage of skilled workers.

The Dachsteinkönig and its employees support this initiative in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Government.
We also train asylum seekers and hope not to lose any hard-working members of our team.

Stall partnership for senior horses

Bundesgestüt Piber – New boarding stable for the former school stallions of the Spanish Riding School

Even the world-famous school stallions of the Spanish Riding School retire one day. After their active career in Vienna, this year they are returning to their roots in green Styria. The newly built boarding stables at the Lipizzaner stud in Piber enable the former stars to be kept in a species-appropriate manner. Light-flooded stalls and spacious exercise areas ensure well-being and variety in the stallions’ everyday lives.

Managing Director Sonja Klima is delighted with the new home of the retired Lipizzaners: “The stallions’ careers began as foals at Piber Stud. They have enchanted us for many years with their willingness to perform and their impressive ability. Now we can offer them the well-earned retirement they deserve in the beautiful surroundings of the stud farm. I can’t think of a better place for them.

We have been supporting this project since 2019.
