Even the world-famous school stallions of the Spanish Riding School retire one day. After their active career in Vienna, they have started to return to their roots in green Styria this year. The newly built boarding stables at the Lipizzaner Stud Piber allow the former stars to be kept in an appropriate manner. Light-flooded boxes and generous exercise areas ensure well-being and variety in the everyday life of the boarding stallions.

Managing Director Sonja Klima is happy about the new home of the retired Lipizzaners: “The career of the stallions started at Gestüt Piber as foals. For many years they enchanted us with their willingness to perform and their impressive abilities. Now we can also offer them the well-deserved retirement they have earned in the beautiful surroundings of the stud. I can’t think of a better place to do this.
